Port plays host to Navy vessels

Friday, 12 April 2013

TWO white ensigns were flying again in Teignmouth harbour this week.

A pair of Royal Navy boats, HMS Puncher and HMS Explorer, arrived on Tuesday from St Malo, in France, and berthed at the port quay for a couple of days.

It is the first naval visit to the resort for some time and their presence attracted quite a bit of interest.

Teignmouth harbourmaster Cmdr David Vaughan, a former Royal Navy skipper, said it was always good to see the white ensign fluttering in the harbour.
